Robert is an active volunteer in the congregation. He is the rector's warden, the council secretary and co-ordinates the maintenance around the church building and yard. He also creates and runs the PowerPoint for the Sunday service most weeks. In addition he volunteers weekly for our Indigenous Ministry outreach Sanctuary program and occasionally cooks the Sunday lunch.
Robert has recently retired as a teacher at Port Hardy Secondary School where he taught chemisty, physics, math, and general science.
The Diocese of British Columbia acknowledges that for thousands of years the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and Kwakwaka’wakw peoples have walked gently on the unceded territories where we now live, work, worship, and play. We seek a new relationship with the first peoples here, one based in honour and respect, and we thank them for their hospitality.
We currently do not have regular office hours. Please contact the Church or one of our ministers via their cell phone or email for pastoral care or questions. You can also email via the Contact form link located on the upper right of every page.
We thank you for registering to attend in-person worship at St. Columba's Port Hardy. A reminder that, at this time, people are respectfully asked to worship via our online option if they are unvaccinated, though we are not checking proof of vaccination at worship services. We also ask everyone to evaluate their current health status using provincial guidelines each time they arrive at the church and wear a mask at all times in the building.
