Sheila Cook has been worshipping at St. Columba's her whole life. Sheila is an ordained priest living and serving on the North Island and is also enrolled in the Vancouver School of Theology Indigenous Studies Program finishing some course work. Currently she is appointed priest at Christ Church Anglican Church in Alert Bay as well as working part-time at St. Columba's Port Hardy, with a special interest in supporting Indigenous community members in the whole North Island.
The Diocese of British Columbia acknowledges that for thousands of years the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and Kwakwaka’wakw peoples have walked gently on the unceded territories where we now live, work, worship, and play. We seek a new relationship with the first peoples here, one based in honour and respect, and we thank them for their hospitality.
We currently do not have regular office hours. Please contact the Church or minister via phone or email for pastoral care or questions. Email via the Contact form link located on the upper right of every page.
We thank you for registering to attend in-person worship at St. Columba's Port Hardy. A reminder that, at this time, people are respectfully asked to worship via our online option if they are unvaccinated, though we are not checking proof of vaccination at worship services. We also ask everyone to evaluate their current health status using provincial guidelines each time they arrive at the church and wear a mask at all times in the building.
