In the media over these past few weeks, we have watched the ongoing armed-conflict between the Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups and Israel from afar. Archbishop Justin Welby (the Archbishop of Canterbury) paid a solidarity visit to Jerusalem this past weekend in the aftermath of the conflict erupting, and immediately following the bombing of (the Anglican) Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
Together with Archbishop Hosam Elias Naoum (Bishop Coadjutor of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem) these two Archbishops have issued a Joint Appeal Letter, calling for prayers and donations not only for the hospital's vital work in Gaza, but also for the ministries throughout the Holy Land which are also being greatly affected by the war.
To that end, please find attached a joint appeal letter. There is also a situation update and a recent photograph of the two Archbishops in front of St. George's Cathedral. Anglicans around the world have been asked to disseminate the appeal letter with their photograph as widely as possible.
The PWRDF is also appealing for support of the hospital in Gaza. To learn more, CLICK HERE.
Thank you for passing along this information and for your prayers and support. We continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and for security for all who dwell in its lands.
