THE COMMUNITY GATHERS BEFORE GOD
Lord, open our lips,
and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

God is our light and our life:
O come, let us worship.

*Hymn: VU 223 Eternal, Unchanging We Sing

Eternal, Unchanging, we sing to your praise;
your mercies are endless, and righteous your ways;
your servants proclaim the renown of your name.
You rule in omnipotence, ever the same.

Again we rejoice in the world you have made,
your mighty creation in beauty arrayed;
we thank you for life and we praise you for joy,
for love and for hope that no power can destroy.

We praise you for Jesus, our Master and Lord,
the might of his Spirit, the truth of his word,
his comfort in sorrow, his patience in pain,
the faith sure and steadfast that Jesus shall reign.

Collect

Jubilate
Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with gladness and come before his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord himself is God;
he himself has made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and call upon his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his faithfulness endures from age to age.

THE STORY OF FAITH IS PROCLAIMED
Hutłilala's! Listen deeply as scripture is read.

Psalm 14 VU 735
Refrain: Dear God, who loves all human kind, forgive our foolish ways.
The foolish have spoken in their heart, and said “There is no God.”
They are corrupt; they do abominable things; there is no one who does what is good.
God looks down from heaven upon us all, to see if any are wise and seek after God.
But all have gone astray; all alike are corrupted; there is no one who does good; no, not one.
R: Dear God, who loves all human kind, forgive our foolish ways.

Have they no knowledge, all those who do evil?
They devour my people like so much bread, and do not pray to God.
But see, they will tremble with fear, for God is on the side of the righteous.
Do not mock the hope of the poor, for God is their refuge.
O that deliverance for God’s people would come forth from Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of the people, then shall Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
R: Dear God, who loves all human kind, forgive our foolish ways.

Epistle: Ephesians 3: 14-21

*Hymn: MV 154 Deep In Our Hearts

Deep in our hearts there is a common vision;
Deep in our hearts there is a common song;
Deep in our hearts there is a common story,
telling Creation that we are one.

Deep in our hearts there is a common purpose;
Deep in our hearts there is a common goal;
Deep in our hearts there is a sacred message,
justice and peace in harmony.

Deep in our hearts there is a common longing;
Deep in our hearts there is a common theme;
Deep in our hearts there is a common current,
flowing to freedom like a stream.

Deep in our hearts there is a common vision;
Deep in our hearts there is a common song;
Deep in our hearts there is a common story,
telling Creation that we are one.

Sermon/ Reflection

Affirmation of Faith
Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first and the great commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

Intercessions/ Prayers
UCC Mission/PWRDF stories

God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

The Peace
The Peace of Christ be always with you!
And also with you!

*Offertory Hymn: MV 187 We Give our Thanks

We give our thanks to God,
we give our thanks to God,
we give our thanks to God,
we give our thanks to God.

We give our hands to you,
we give our hands to you,
we give our hands to you,
because you reached for us.

We give our eyes to you,
we give our eyes to you,
we give our eyes to you,
because you looked for us.

We give our feet to you,
we give our feet to you,
we give our feet to you,
because you walk with us.

We give our hearts to you,
we give our hearts to you,
we give our hearts to you,
because you first loved us.

*Response: VU 540 Grant Us, God, the Grace

Grant us, God, the grace of giving,
with a spirit large and free,
that ourselves and all our living
we may offer faithfully.

Prayer over the gifts

*The Lord’s Prayer
Gathering our prayers and praises into one, let us pray as our Saviour taught us,
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

Dismissal
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
May God bless us and keep us. May God make his face shine on us and be gracious to us. May God look upon us with favour and grant us peace. Amen.

*Hymn: VU 468 Let Us Talents and Tongues Employ

Let us talents and tongues employ,
reaching out with a shout of joy:
bread is broken, the wine is poured,
Christ is spoken and seen and heard.

Jesus lives again,
earth can breathe again,
pass the Word around:
loaves abound!

Christ is able to make us one,
at the table he set the tone,
teaching people to live to bless,
love in word and in deed express.

Jesus lives again,
earth can breathe again,
pass the Word around:
loaves abound!

Jesus calls us in, sends us out,
bearing fruit in a world of doubt,
gives us love to tell, bread to share:
God (Immanuel) everywhere!

Jesus lives again,
earth can breathe again,
pass the Word around:
loaves abound!

Words: Fred Kaan

Sending
Carry out into the world the love of God in Christ.
Loved, forgiven and redeemed, we go forth! Amen. Gilakas’la.

*Three-fold Amen
